Not perfect but https://jointhefediverse.net/ is the best I think way to explain why someone should care at all about the Fediverse.

Personally I think a good tactic for most of the public to focus on features and pros/cons of Mastodon and other apps vs. trying to explain or mention #Fediverse at all.

I still can’t believe none of these “New Twitters” have generative AI baked in. Both text and images. Such an obvious differentiator to get people using them.

@mgs BlueSky barely has any functions and not seeing how Mastodon can pull that off (community being the blocker). Post.news - didn't seem that was an attractive pull.

Sounds like an opportunity for a new kind of social network.

    @chris @tomfinley @Jeffro Agree with Chris. I had to turn Twitter into something useful (so the minute Tweetdeck dies, the tools that help me die too). To generalize Mastodon audiences have their own problems (seems like half the time it wants to talk about how other social networks suck compared to it) but you can make it your own. There are useful conversations and people in both places.
