@triptych This is interesting. I've had it in my head for years that I'd make a Mario Maker for Zelda games. Recently been thinking about actually starting it 🥸

I tried your app on mobile and it wasn't great cos the windows overlapped and I couldn't move them, but just tried it on desktop and worked well. Interested to see how this develops.

I published a short Pachinko inspired game on Brush Ninja last night. It's free to play with 66 levels. If it's popular I will make a level editor and add loads of new levels.

I started making it years ago and didn't finish it, so I spent a few evenings tidying it up so I could put it on the web.

Google Pagespeed Insights knocked 20% off my page speed score because I embedded a youtube video on a page. It's now a link and I'm back up to 92%. What on earth are they doing with 3.5mb of JavaScript (uncompressed)? That's a lot of tracking and ad code!

Interesting. My kid gets his first piece of high-school homework. An 11-question quiz about Shakespeare.

He HAS done the homework. But I wondered: what would ChatGPT make of this?

By my reckoning, 4 of the 11 answers it gave were incorrect. And this is because some element of “interpretation” was required to answer the question.

The AI's aren't coming for us just yet!

@ross nice. You can test things in the playground without writing any code if you just want to see what a response is. Still costs but shouldn't be much for a few questions.

🌍 I’m honestly reaching the point with the climate crisis where some kind of protest or direct action on government and corporations is on my list.

@ross I don't have an answer but I feel the same. I suspect we are part of the silent majority. The loud element who see the problem gets arrested for protesting (eg just stop oil). The loud minority on the opposing side gets published in the newspapers or interviewed on TV.

It's the same with politics. The Left "do the right thing" which means they inevitably get beaten by the Right who don't care and do what's best for them.

😵‍💫 I don’t get why tech people find Mastodon hard.

They understand choosing servers/instances.

They understand the privacy issues of closed corporate-controlled networks.

They’re often proponents of open source.

They usually hate ads.

They like APIs and feeds and nerd stuff.

Confuses me greatly.

@ross personally I found picking a server stressful. It literally took me weeks, and then I changed server.

But once i was settled and following a bunch of people it's just twitter without the nonsense. It's awesome and I much prefer it. I just wish there were more of the people I follow on twitter here.

@zorrobandito I've not played Dropzone. Will have to take a look at that. Prince of Persia is one of my earliest gaming memories. Albeit on the pc rather than console. I remember Unirally reviews (in a magazine) will have to find that cos I seem to remember thinking it looked fun at the time! Thanks for all the suggestions!
