I’m not sure why but i love the fact that Star Wars D6 was able to accommodate the ridiculously detailed skills, & species, & weapons, & so on, AND STILL be able to fit a full character sheet on half a page.

The system’s actually Good too.

Every time i re-open these books I’m impressed.

@masukomi I keep hoping to come across a good deal on some used copies of these sourcebooks. I know there are PDFs available, but would love to have the books. Keep hearing how good the system is.

@masukomi I keep forgetting Noble Knight carries RPGs. I've bought board games from them before, and was happy with the service. Thanks for the tip!

@masukomi Thanks so much for the info on the different editions! Like you mentioned in another reply, I may just grab all I can now while where I can find them!

Regarding the situation:

Are there any non-shitty options for writers who want to get paid for their articles and writings?

This is of personal interest to me as well - I fortunately avoided Substack, but I am on Patreon, which seems to be going through its own enshittification cycle.

I know that discussing things like "monetizing the " are unpopular, but we still need to survive in this Capitalist hellhole we all live in - and I'd like it if there was some way of doing that as a writer without being dependent on dubious large platforms whose corporate owners put short-term profits over ethics every time.

@juergen_hubert There are several alternatives that seem to be decent: https://www.wired.com/story/best-substack-alternatives/

I like that @buttondown is here on Mastodon and seems very responsive to users and posts updates often. They're pretty transparent about their own costs and revenue. It's a one-person shop (or at least it was), and has almost all the features of substack. I think lacking comments is the biggest dealbreaker for some, but they said the feature is on their radar.

Very interesting feature comparison of Xitter, Mastodon, threads and a few others from Dewey Square’s most recent Twitter migration report.

@J12t "T2" is pebble.is? I had to search, as I hadn't heard of another network starting up.
