one of the libraries underpinning the Linux graphics ecosystem is called the GNU is Not Unix Image Manipulation Program Tool Kit. It is primarily used by GNU is Not Unix Network Object Model Environment. GTK's primary competitor (qt) was created by a company called Trolltech, and qt is the primary library of the Kool Desktop Environment.

All of these bind to the X window system, which is named that way because it's the successor to the W window system, which was the window system of the V operating system. It is currently being succeeded by a window system named after a town in Massachusetts.

@qristy they make stickers for that exact purpose! there's a well-known brand called light dims but I'm sure there are tons of other similar products out there as well. they look like this usually and come in both blackout and diffusing types

some changes that have helped my feel more comfy:

  • putting a textured screen protector on my . it feels great to have some grip and bite while drawing on here. if you do this, be aware that it'll tear through your plastic pen nibs. which leads me to my second change, actually!

  • switching to a metal nib in the tablet pen! if you do this, make sure that you don't drop your pen--it could get damaged from the impact+metal nib. i bought a metal nib well aware of this possibility. i spent 10 USD to never have to buy wacom's nib refills ever again.
