What maniac decided to manage volumes pv, vg and lv should be 80 separate applications? FFS make each of those a single command with switches or verbs for whatever you're trying to accomplish.

phyvol, volgrp, logvol and then whatever action you're trying to do. e.g. logvol create --name --size etc. That's how nearly every other thing on a linux system works. The current situation is fucking obtuse, obscene and absurd.

Man, watching this insane video with the ex Google AI guy who keeps claiming AI is sentient etc. No proof. No evidence. Just statements.

Show me the ML/AI that's proactively doing things, unprompted, the way every other sentient being operates. Show me the math that shows current ML eventually becomes sentient.

So far it doesn't do jack unprompted and it chokes on it's own shit when fed it instead of going off and doing its own thing. Anthropomorphism at it's finest

I tried #opnsense way back shortly after it came out and it was rough. I have been hearing good things about it lately though.

I'm just not sure I can bring myself to do the work to take down the network for some time, re-install opnsense, then try to re-create my configuration.

Is there some easy way to migrate? A backup converter or something I could just restore to opnsense?

This week I learned two things that are related and kind of blow my mind.

Space is roughly -14 PSI, while sea level is approx 15 PSI. That makes loss of air to space at only give or take 30 PSI.

Meanwhile the Titanic sunk in enough water to equal 5500 PSI give or take.

The ocean is so much mechanically more difficult. Insane.

I'll take my adventures in space thank you very much.

Edit: Space is 0 PSI. 14 PSI - 14 PSI = 0 I miss understood what I read.

I'm on the struggle bus to move up in my career because I stayed too long at my current position. I'm an old school ops guy.

In that time the world has transitioned from Ops and Dev as two separate rolls and everything was monolithic. Everything now is cloud and micro services. I've been trying to learn but it's no sub for hands on experience.

I can't seem to convince anyone to take me despite paying for an editor for my resume and doing all the recommended best practices.

What is one to do?

Basement server rack. Top to bottom, old Dell gaming laptop G7 running plex/jellyfin, TP Link managed network switch, Proxmox server, Steam streaming gaming machine.

Proxmox and Steam rig are 11th gen Erying Aliexpress rigs, 64gb ram each, Steam rig is running an RX 6600 GPU.

Shelf under the rack is my router, Synology Backups NAS and UPS.

Beast box at the left is my 12 drive unRAID NAS.

The fediverse doesn't seem to be doing this.

Does that mean the fediverse could have an outsized impact on LLM results as the places for LLM scrapers dwindles?

Is there a sort of fedi-consensus on if we want to help or hurt LLMs? How might we go about doing one or the other if we have more influence?

That one time I went to San Francisco for Kind of Funny Live 2 in 2016. There are a hand full of iconic structures in the world and I think this beautiful bit of engineering ranks up there.

For all the issues San Fran might have it's still a beautiful city in a beautiful place. I recommend at least a visit!

Using MTR I see one router dropping a high percentage of packets. However that doesn't seem to effect latency?

Shouldn't it? Lost packets are packets that need to be re-sent which takes time. Is it just that the router prior is performing so well that even with packets being re-sent it doesn't effect latency much?

I was marking the center top of the building but then the drone cuts off one end or the other. Couldn't go wider due to trees.

Anyone know anyone else who is huge into Jim Henson Creature Shop or Muppets?

I have what I believe to be a full set of mint super rare Jim Henson Creature Shop toys. Originally set to be released and then canceled when the Chick-fil-A leadership were found out to be shitty.

I'd rather sell to someone who would take good care as opposed to going for biggest dollars on the likes of ebay.

My very first flight. Noticed the drift at the beginning of the video. Tried to land using return to home with the intent of re-calibrating geomagnetics. Not sure how or why return to home sent the drone firing off at a sideways angle into the field.

Still investigating. Thanksfully it didn't turn into my first FAA report. :kerbal:

I'm fairly certain Kagi is borrowing from SearxNG and making some slight modifications. The only thing Kagi holds over SearxNG that I see is the maps feature.
