Lauren Aratani, who wrote this article, managed to give the names of all the victims and the person who filmed the violence. Yet not a single officer’s name is listed. I have to assume that Lauren Aratani is a boot licker.

Also it’s disgusting that the police stated this happened because they were trying to keep the child safe. The NYPD (in its entirety) can all go fuck themselves.

EDIT: dunno why, but because Beehaw, I can’t actually see the comment below. So I’ll answer here…

Beehaw defederated from a lot of the bigger instances because someone hurt their feelings or whatever. So now you miss out on the majority of lemmy content including comments. I would suggest creating an account with a different instance so that you can experience the entirety of the community.

If people want to be part of a limited community that’s fine and well. The issue I have is that a lot of people joining lemmy don’t know what beehaw is about and join it just because it’s a name they’ve maybe heard of. Then they’re completely unimpressed by lemmy, not knowing they’re only part of a fraction of the federation. Next thing they’re back on reddit or whereever.

Also, as someone with access to the majority of lemmy instances, I’ve only ran into maybe a handful of assholes on here. I’m really not sure what beehaw is trying to shelter it’s users from. It’s easy enough to block someone on the rare occasion.

Honestly I had seen almost zero marketing. Had I not already been in a theater when the trailer came out I wouldn’t have known this movie existed until seeing this lemmy post, at which point I would have shat my pants at the excitement of knowing there’s a new mad max movie. So hopefully more people come out to see it now that word is getting around.

In genuinely curious because there seems to be some people that have an issue with her.

Even so, I still watch Tom Cruise movies even though I think the guy is a psycho. Most actors are a little off if you dig into their personal lives.

Edit to add: I ended up down a rabbit hole of interviews with her and I only like her more.

That’s just it, I went in to see a Mad Max movie and that’s what I got. Very satisfied! I think anyone complaining about this movie went in with the wrong expectations. I told my gf before the movie, “I want to see high speed chases, shit flying through the air, explosions, stunts and at last one thing I’ve never seen before.”. I got all that shit and then some! Fuck yeah!
