@Ajo1322 oooooh there are a few for us! Discworld, probably some CoD, Elite Dangerous, maybe a little Smash Bros, and also Tomb Raider IV.

The Monkey Island games were my introduction to point-and-click adventures and will always have a special place in my heart. From the start, 'Return to Monkey Island' gives the exact same vibe. It feels both like playing another chapter in the Monkey Island series, and at the same time the new aspects make it feel better tailored for modern point-and-click gaming. Personally, I find the art style just beautiful too. Hits right in the nostalgia.

@fringemagnet I completely agree!! Though I hated the art style while the title was pre-release it very quickly grew on me within the first few minutes of actually playing it.

Visuals and all, it just "feels like" the Monkey Island I knew when I was growing up and I cannot thank @grumpygamer and the team enough for making it happen.

The only "bad thing" about the old MI games now is that I know all the puzzles off by heart. So I am playing through Discworld instead.

@fringemagnet They hold up REALLY well, but in a very frustrating "that doesn't work" way! I've got PS1 copies.

Tonight will be Episode VII and hopefully that last episode of our Discworld (1) livestream playthrough.

It's been really hard and I've had so much help from the community and would never have made it without them tbh. Some very silly ideas!

@fringemagnet @iju yeah I've been trying some amateur detective work and basically pleading Rihanna Pratchett but it's all in the wind. My main suggestion is to just do it and then see who complains 🤣

I do have the PC version of Noir here as well but have all three on ps1 which obvs still works like a charm. I think it's Noir I'll be streaming next, probably (maybe)

@fringemagnet @iju I heard in general online ramblings that it's actually easier to get the PS1 copies working on a modern PC.

Visuals wise things are fine. Performance in kind of click-action latency is a little (not too much) worse than we expect these days. Voice acting is amazing.

Learning #BassGuitar - so I'm comfortable with the latest tune (or at least main riff, Withers "Lovely Day"), and it's fun, but now I'm completely re-jigging the fingering to mute more effectively. One of these days I'll work out how to move between frets effectively, AND work out the muting, all from the very start. Hey ho, every day's a school day...

@_thegeoff fret movement will come with time and muscle memory! After some years playing guitar I can ONLY play Nothing Else Matters if I DON'T look at the frets. If I do I get confused and fudge it.

@_thegeoff I started as a security chief. Built a pretty big clan, then have disappeared off on exploration trips and got hooked. Only came back for Odyssey because I LOVE the on-foot base espionage.

@PixelBandits Honestly I could never get into the CoD games past the original two (single player) ones, the multiplayer in them just felt so slow, glued to the ground, and boring to me (I'm not a fan of the "move up slightly and shoot from cover, get hit twice then respawn" gameplay they tend to have.) I'd love to get back into online FPSs but nobody makes one that's appealing to me anymore, you're forced to choose between "hero's" and lootboxes" or "realistic", both with loot grind now.

@raptor85 we play hardcore only (so 1 or 2 hits and you go down) and we also play objective- asked modes almost all the time. This cuts down on the camping (it DOESN'T eliminate it entirely!) because either you have to move / assault / defend positions, or you lose.
