My neighbor's mom made me a plate. Underneath all those delicious vegetables are tortillas rolled up and stuffed with chicken

Two of our actors and our stage manager have COVID right now, so tonight is going to be a little bit of a wild ride at the theater

We made it through Act 1 with some issues, but our replacement actors are doing a great job and the audience is loving the show

So, it wasn't the smoothest performance last night, but the actor filling in for the lead role did a fantastic job, despite having to read from the script during the show. He emoted really well and his comedic timing is great.

This is wild. One of the duck eggs I got from my boss is almost entirely yolk.

Mega yolk!

When are we going to get a Jurassic Park / Planet of the Apes crossover film?

Hollywood has no imagination anymore.

There should be a Mad Max / Waterworld crossover that takes place on a beach

I designed and printed a connector that plugs in to a Toyota coil-on-plug pack. Will it work? We will see

It works! We plugged the coil into a test rig @regorlas built with an Arduino to see if the coil could be controlled by something other than an engine computer. And yes, it can be!

Tonight's show at the theater made up for last night's disaster. The actors were all in great form. The lighting equipment behaved. I got all the light and sound cues right. The stage crew was on their game. And the audience was wonderful. They were maybe our best audience so far.

Some lady at the grocery-store bike rack: Oh shit! You're tall!

Me: Yea

Lady: How tall are you?

Me: 6'3"

Lady: Are your parents tall?

Me: No, they're normal height

Lady: Oh, so you are some kind of giant!

I got home around 1 am after last night's performance and saw that someone had put a desk/table with nice metal legs and an oak top out on the street.

I've been needing a new desk, so I dragged it home.

I went out and looked at it this morning and the top is not oak. It is bamboo. It's bamboo stamped with a fake oak wood grain pattern. lol. I'll still use it though.

Last night's performance at the theater is going to be a strong contender for the "Oh, god!" award they give out to one production each year.

On top of two of our actors, including the lead, and our stage manager being out sick with covid, the city's lighting system broke down and we couldn't fix it before the show started.

When it's working, it allows the booth operator (me) to move through all the preprogrammed lighting cues that are designed to evoke moods at certain points in the play or highlight an actor standing in a specific spot on stage.

We had none of that control. The stage lighting was unresponsive. Five minutes before the house was open, the director discovered that we could still control the lights through the four basic lighting presets built into the system. None of them were designed for the play, but at least they put some light on the stage.

And we didn't figure out until intermission how to do a blackout on stage.

I spent the entire production manually turning the lights on and off to try and light the stage as appropriately as we could manage.

Phew....
