@mattmaison @bookstodon I read the 2001 series many Moons ago (2001, 2010, 2061, 3001). And I read “The Sentinel” (an anthology of some of his short stories), a few years back. I’m overdue to finally check out some of his other works

@franciscawrites @bookstodon I just started it. I’ve read the rest of the Foundation books, so this is the last one, for me.

@janerationx @nfl I agree. Always take the points! Still, it was a season for Lions fans to be proud of. Though the concept of being proud of one’s football team is foreign to me…

@Nonya_Bidniss @bookstodon I’ve seen the author interviewed on TV a number of times, so I’m eager to finally read this.

@suelli @bookstodon Thanks, I agree. I Actually read Foundation and F&E years ago, but for reasons I don’t remember, stopped. Last year, I restarted the series at Foundation, and have now read everything except the two “prequels.” Figured I might as well check them out.

@Lsquare28@mstdn.social avatar

@suelli @bookstodon Yeah, I remember starting the original trilogy decades ago, and really enjoying it. But for reasons lost over the passage of time, I stopped during the Mule storyline, and never went back. Fast forward to last year, when I restarted at Foundation, and read the trilogy plus the two sequels. I watched the first season of the TV series, and my reaction was “meh.” Not bad, but not special.

I arrived on Mastodon one year ago today. Here's what I wrote to celebrate that anniversary:

The O/U in the #NYJvsNYG game is 36.5, and I can't stop laughing. Also of note: it has very little TV coverage. 😂

#OTD on Sept. 17, 1976, NASA rolled out its first space shuttle, named the Enterprise, from its manufacturing plant in Palmdale, California.

The ceremony was attended by 600 invited guests and 185 media representatives.

As Enterprise emerged from the hangar, the Air Force Band of the Golden West from March Air Force Base in Riverside County, CA, played Alexander Courage’s Star Trek musical score.
