We’re floored to see the support from our community. Thank you! We've published an update on the Kickstarter.
Turns out people like swag, our ts and swag bags are sold out, but we still have totes available. We're brainstorming some other swag options--thinking hats and patches?
We've also had confirmation of three artists on our compilation album, with more to come!
I keep seeing people talk about using generative models with very low accuracy and success rates. I have to resist the urge to point out that with rates that low, it’s possible they’re just seeing randomness in action and the feeling of productive utility is down to their own perception
@impersonal@baldur aren’t the main arguments against homeopathy based in high school level chemistry though? Nature-based cures may or may not work just like any other substance, but homeopathy is just water with some wishes attached.
Seems like DeSantis has moved firmly past his evil mastermind phase, his boogeyman phase, his pathetic phase, and is now entering the beginnings of his lame duck phase?
One observation from reviewing MA program applications: We are getting some of our best applicants from Florida. It is a telling reminder of the impacts of state censorship.
@baldur "Above all, this is why it's probably better to learn about new things from ChatGPT instead of Google. ChatGPT has the problem of hallucinating information that isn't true, but at least it's not trying to sell you something."
hey @ntnsndr i have a couple projects that could use some "exit to community" but don't have a playbook. Know anyone entrepreneurial interested in platform coops?
i see so many people today fired from jobs and immediately looking to go wage slaving for some other corporation.
please consider alternatives. band together, build cooperatives. let's claw back some amount of control over our lives. i, for one, am sick of corporate feudal lords and am looking for accomplices for an escape.
@zeh just like the other people in the thread - the big issue with this is that people let go of Etsy are used to making 100k+ / year on the low end. A lot of the coops on that list cannot pay that much - or don't want to, they're competitive since they can have worker owners that live in countries with a much lower COL.
@aparrish I mean, with Uber this is frequently how people conceive of the interaction. They’re not hiring a person to drive them or deliver food, they are interacting with an app.
@mem_somerville_kbin@hedge if you haven't checked out the mastodon side of the fediverse, #socialcoop uses this model and has existed for a couple years.
