@bazcurtis Unlike our Parliamentary System, the US system does allow you to vote separately. So people could vote for a Republican for senator but a Democrat for president. We’ll see in November how many choose that option. 🤷‍♂️

@bazcurtis It can be argued that actually a very few people make an election close - due to the ridiculously archaic Electoral College system the Americans cling to.

The majority of votes in America actually don’t matter. It comes down to the swing states. 🤷‍♂️

There’s a lot of commentary about the film The Idea of You bc Anne Hathaway plays a 40 year old mom who is attractive.

I have not seen the movie, but as a mom of 2 who is also older than Anne Hathaway, the seemingly widespread surprise(?) that women of a certain age can still be engaging & lovely seems so silly.

Y'all want to hear a fact that really changed the way I thought about homelessness?

Half of all homeless people were in the foster system at some point. Social Workers often call the foster system The Highway to Homelessness. If you ever had a point in your life where you had to live with friends or family to for a short time to get back on your feet, remember that is a privilege that not everyone had.

Is there a #Doctor in the house? 😀

For the past 3 nights and yesterday afternoon, I've had a nose bleed out of my right nostril. Not gushing like a hit but a trickle. Luckily, it wakes me before I make a mess of pillows/sheets. 😳

I haven't been hit in the nose. No extra exertion or exercise to cause it. No previous issues with anything else other than the usual aches and pains of being old(er).No racing hereart rate or anything I can attribute it to.

Do you think it's a cause for concern? 😳

@ParadeGrotesque Yeah…easier said than done, unfortunately. No doctors in my little small town are accepting new patients. I haven’t had a doctor in over 7 years. :(

Dry air isn’t usually an issue here. I live in the Pacific Northwest and next to the ocean. :)

@mentallyalex @Waitnwallflower Humidity hasn’t changed. And the nosebleeds happened in two separate apartments only a couple of miles apart.No reason for blood pressure to have suddenly changed but I don’t “feel” any different…
