For those who have watched me torture my iPhone 13 for the last month, I'm happy to report that the battery capacity dropped to 80% yesterday, and I have an express replacement on the way. I started at 83% in mid-February, and have been recording 4K 60FPS video to drain the battery several times a day. It takes around 90 minutes to charge to 100% from USB C and about 2 hours to die completely, although sometimes the temperature makes the app crash. Despite reports of crashing apps, high temperatures, bad battery life and premature shutdowns (with 10-15% battery remaining), Apple wouldn't replace the battery under Apple Care until the battery got to 80%. So, I got it there. I played the stupid game and won the stupid prize.

I think the sign that I have officially slammed headlong into adulthood is not the stress of job applications both local and abroad, but rather the fact that I just spent a non-trivial amount of time giving serious thought to purchasing coasters for my surfaces to prevent condensation from my water bottles making my tables/wooden surfaces wet and gross.

On the other hand, I'm a little bit of a hoarder and desperately want to minimise and this isn't a sensible purchase... ... ... or is it? help!

Am I back on Mastodon? And clubhouse? yeah. But instead of getting lost in the minefield that is the internet and the disabled community, I'm looking for jobs. and experiences. and ways to be and become better. I'm not saying I'm perfect, or even that I won't get sucked in to the mess that is community chatting, but what I am saying is that I'm here. and I will be heard. and I am so incredibly excited to get moving with the rest of my life.

I'll make a lot of enemies if I go on a rant about how mutual aid requests for things like projects because you're bored, or gifts, or whatever, is not what mutual aid is for, so I won't... But it's not... And people are out here trying to keep houses over their heads and food in their stomachs. Get a job, or find a hobby that isn't quite as expensive. Or sell something, some skill, some actual beneficial thing on the internet. Make yourself useful. People are dying. Don't clutter mutual aid because you can't be assed to do for yourself.

Has anyone else noticed issues with MagSafe charging on an iPhone while on phone calls? I used to think this was an issue with my 13, but I just saw my 15 have significant battery drain while on a TeamTalk server. I have it plugged into an 18 watt Amazon Basics charger and I know Apple's recommended thing does 20, but I also know MagSafe is 15.

I've had the weirdest issue lately where my phone (Iphone 13), really struggles to charge via magsafe in my case.
It's to the point where — if I'm using certain apps — my phone will actively heat up and lose charge, even if it's on the charger.
Today, I tried charging the phone without the case while using one of these apps and I was absolutely fine. The case is magsafe compatible and I just don't understand why this would be happening.

I guess I'm not even asking for ideas, I just think it's really weird.

I get that people enjoy summer. I don't understand, but people will be people and I suppose some are just vaguely silly... But I would give so much to be able to spend a happy Christmas somewhere where it's cold.
