• they destroy the view (how many can you see here?)

• they kill whales (disproven by recent research)

• rescue operations will be hindered (the UK has not had any rescue related issues with their offshore Wind farms).

Check out the shoreline change along the southeast coast of Nantucket.

-Sheep Pond Rd is no longer a through road.

• Several houses were demolished or moved landward.

It is important to look at the socioeconomic and environmental justice indicators for the region facing the brunt of #idalia. It’s important to understand that evacuation isn’t easy for everyone. This region has a high number of disabled, low income & generally underserved population.

15 billion dollar disasters in 2023. We are outpacing 2020, which totaled the greatest number of billion dollar disasters (22 that year). THIS is why that lack of #climateaction is so costly.
