My poor Beanie baby had hives today. This was after her day at the spa… I mean vet. Her welts are still slightly visible. Knowing the provenance of dog allergies is harder to discover than knowing the mysteries surrounding the origin of the Sphinx.

I don't do vets that want me to drop my dog off so they can do whatever, whenever they get around to it. Nope.

@kevbob Oh, good. I'm very skeptical around vets after two decades of bad experiences.

I was told one of my dogs had an aggressive cancer on his leg and we needed to immediately remove it. Turned out, after biopsy, it was a spider bite. I had to carry that 37-pound dog up and down three steep flights of stairs for WEEKS. Not to mention the extreme discomfort he suffered.

@kevbob Same dog had ear infections for his first 11 years. Vets kept saying "oh, it's cocker ear," even though his sister who was right there never had a single ear infection. When he was 11 I found a new vet who looked at him, said "food allergy," we switched his food, and he never had another ear infection.

@kevbob What did she have a reaction to?

My current dog had an allergic reaction to a bordatella injection (in contrast to the nasal administration). Her face swelled - weird and scary!

Three days in a row I haven’t faced the anxiety of #Wordle . Feels pretty good actually, I may have hit my limit. I’m also proud I ran with LIGER as my starting word for many months and even got some solved puzzles on the second guess with it.

@kevbob Nothing for it but to dig up the lilac to get the blackberry out. Anything short of that, you're going to be fucking with that thing for years.

I too had a rule against prickery plants when I had a garden. Love the raspberries/blackberries, hate the prickers.

Also, don't plant catnip if you don't want cats fighting and shitting all over your yard.
