In Britain, former Conservative Member of Parliament Julian Knight, who was suspended from the party over allegations of sexual assault, has announced he will run in the election as an independent. Seems to me he could start and run for the Sexual Assault Party.
"As the UK's General Election campaign stumbles uncertainly into its third week, one thing becomes abundantly clear: none of the leading politicians in any of Britain's mainstream political parties are any good at their jobs. Every one of them is mediocre at best, utterly incompetent at worst."
"the last thing party managers want is bolshy back benchers, They want a quiet life. They want a party which appears disciplined, and united. So they select for people who don't have strong opinions. They select for people who don't have strong principles, robust consciences. For people who are not deep thinkers. And, the thing is, they've (now) been doing this for generations"
"the small cabal of people who fund all our mainstream parties... don't particularly care which of those parties they back wins, because none of them will seek to bite the hand that feeds them.
Our politicians may be useless human beings, but they're excellent dogs. They'll do what they're told, come to heel when called, beg and whine for treats, and defend their owners loudly and fiercely from all perceived threats"
The fact that the Tories think the first week of #Pride is a good time to launch a Transphobic (& Homophobic, as it will impact many cis women whose gender expression is not classically feminine) policy shows exactly why #PrideIsAProtest
Every day, we see another article about our Home Office and its total lack of compassion and lack of competence.
At this point, it needs reforming throughout. Give every person who has applied an extension to their stay and go through every single function and procedure until the department regains its humanity. Sack every heartless person there.
If the Tories do survive this election in any recognisable form, I wonder if they will come to embrace the benefits of preferential (ranked choice) voting?
Annoying to get blatant lies in our letterbox from the local #LibDems claiming they are the tactical vote! I definitely plan to vote tactically, but that means holding my nose and voting #Labour #UKPol
"Describing us as ‘violent’ puts us in greater danger as we continue to sleep out in tents. By claiming they do not know who we are, the university’s senior leadership have renounced their duty of care."
