A really weird thing happened. :mastodon_oops:
One of the notifications in my Notifications was edited by the OP that is completely empty, probably it was a toot that I boosted previously.
I don't get how this notification totally broke two of my Mastodon clients, Sengi and tut in a totally different but really annoying way.
Another #mastodonel / #emacs newbie question:
When the cursor is on a post in one of the timelines is there a way to quickly open/expand the post's thread in another buffer window instead of expanding the thread in the current buffer window?
My current strategy is to duplicate the current timeline buffer window using C-x 2 then switching to the second window using C-x o then pressing the thread command T. Is there a better way to speed that up with less commands? Maybe a macro? #askemacs
@cshentrup I've used variations of Vim, emulated vi modes in other tools, and more recently Neovim almost half my life, but I never gave Emacs a real try so I'm finally giving it one (at first without vi-emulation so I can really get a feel for it). I'm not sure if there really is an equally-powered equivalent (neo)vim client plugin for mastodon yet, but #tuthttps://tut.anv.nu/ seems neat and Vim inspired.
A quick blog post on Sheila Dixons' entry into the #Tut-Tut cannon with her fresh release of the RC2014 version of my little Egyptian themed puzzle action game.
I'm trying to move all of my persistent browser tabs into the terminal install. Very happy with #aerc and #newsboat for email/RSS. Just added #stmp for music streaming from Navidrome.
Thanks to esim.me I have a use case for a dual boot setup - I also want to keep using postmarketOS on the device.
Currently, Shift OS L is installed.
Is there a step-by-step guide somewhere?
Can I use any available Android (Calyx, Lineage, Shift) or only some?
Any further tips from people using such a setup?
Thanks in advance!
@linmob Thanks for the information! I ran the first 4 fastboot lines on my existing #postmarketos installation. After rebooting, postmarketos auto-resized the fs and now I have extra space to install #tut to write this toot :-)
tooting with #tut on my #ClockworkPi#uConsole ...
nice little device with very clicky keys, great housing but way to little battery
power for a #RaspberryPi Compute Module and not so great wifi. You can get about 3
hours battery life with wifi on.
so all in all a real (bulky) replacement for my old zaurus ;)
Landkreise #VS, #TUT, #KN, #FN, #SIG, #RV, suche Gleichgesinnte.
For those of you looking at Mastodon on desktop/laptop... do you use a third party app? Like, I'm currently using Pinafore and I really like how clean and streamline it is, but wondering if there are others out there I should check out. Let me know.
In addition to testing out #Voidlinux again, I’m now also trying to become almost exclusively terminal based within my WM. So #Aerc for mail, #Tut for Mastodon, #Ranger as a FM, Neovim as a ‘DE-texteditor ‘ (so a .local/share/applications shortcut). Currently using #qutebrowser and #spotify as only exceptions and #Thunar as a fallback FM. It takes a little getting used to, although only fulltime ranger and neovim instead of neovim-qt are the only changes from my daily. But I like it!
There's another couple of things I'm going to investigate too. With looking at #aerc for my TUI email client I'm wondering if I can insert emoji into emails and display emojis in that are already in received emails ?
The same would I suppose apply to me trialling #Tut for my Mastodon client can I use emojis there too ?
