Had some spoons this morning to sit down and look at different grocery store options, finally.
The one I'd been using isn't Loblaws, but it's a bit chain that isn't great either. And where I used to love their customer service and quality, the last little while it has steeply tanked. I'm talking multiple occasions of meat being ONE MONTH expired.
Found there's a coop grocery store 5 min away from the new place. So trying that this week!
Being a spoonie with chronic pain and an overwhelmed brain (yay AuDHD) means that change is hard. I love the idea of putting my money where my mouth is. I think it's important.
BUT ALSO, I live my life on several levels of hard mode already. There aren't many places I feel I have wiggle room at any given time. But I fell asleep thinking about community last night, and woke up with a bee in my bonnet about my grocery store, lol.
I have discovered if you put your blanket on the diagonal, you get more reliable coverage for your feet, as well as extra warmth to stuff around your back and hips.
This has substantially upped pillow nest game, passing it on.
Having a generally cranky-geezer day due to a combo of bad knees, stressful peopling moments, and the sudden weather gearshift back to Oregon damp, so it was time for another nature errand to get my head sorted. Such a relief to commune with the trees, which may make my eyes itch but never give me anxiety attacks over "okay now what the heck did they mean by that last DM??!?" 🤣
Very low-energy today, especially after shlepping around a local rescued/redistributed food pantry yesterday. On the plus side, I scored some nice items including lamb chops and a kabocha squash. So I expect to stage an extremely laid-back spoonie home-cook version of Chopped in my kitchen before the weekend is out.
I'm going to start calling these breaks I take at local parks nature errands, because they're really as needful for my wellbeing as grocery pickups and doctor's appointments.
The weather has turned wet and chilly again, and predictably, the CrankyBod<tm> does not approve. An appropriate day to hunker down, do homey things like cooking... and slay a mess o pixel demons later on. 😉

Happy spring! Catching some rays, such as they are, at my favorite accessible riverside hang. Intending to do at least a little outdoorsy stuff, spoonie style, before trundling back to the lair again. That lair may be in a new location, but its occupant is still the same old semi-feral introvert geezer who needs some escape from peopling every now and then.

Out and about today, no errand save for taking advantage of the sunshine to get some nature vibe, starting with a visit to my favorite accessible riverside hang. Oh, I should probably gas up the van while I'm out, I guess that counts as a tangible errand. But the intangible ones count too.
For those keeping track o me, am covid negative and now just clearing up the detritus of inflammation and usual chronic illness fallout from a major stressor (and this was fucking major, crikey).
My cognition has been pretty wrecked and my social spoons down near zero so not much for chatting, been afk a lot, but I am doing ok and on the mend.
My brain is blarg and I can't fix it. But my brain is attached to my body so if I go and do something kind for my body: a walk, some stretching, heck even take some deep breaths, my brain is probably getting some of the splashback of that love. #spoonieLife#selfCare#lettingGo#brainFog
Even though the neurospicy edges of my brain are lowkey tripping out over the remaining piles of boxes to be unpacked (and obsessing over a couple of items possibly gone missing in said boxes), my cranky-ass bod has had enough of my brain's "must keep doing the thing!!!" shit for one week and declared a crash day. I do still have to do some very basic kitchen survival tasks, but anything beyond that is yeeted off the agenda.

I have a working vehicle again, and to celebrate I've come down to inspect how the recent Iceapalooza affected my favorite accessible riverside hang. Not all that bad, actually, though that very-full river is a bit concerning given past instances of flooding and mudslides.
