Resisting the urge to undertake a massive rewrite or refactor of an existing codebase that has been quietly working for years. I only need to make the changes necessary to work with the latest version of #PHP. I have to keep reminding myself that rewriting everything is unnecessary. #dev
@valorin Thank you, for keeping us updated on #Mastodon, as well as Twitter. I look forward to see more #Laravel and #PHP users start to post on Mastodon.
@dragnucs The full context is that I'm working on a #OpenAPI spec client generator in #PHP and that PR is implementing daily automation to update the client when the spec updates. The repository holds all the generated clients for all the GitHub specs. Now when I made that screenshot I just delete all but 3 of those generated clients to do some CI testing with them to not flood GHA with runs.
Does anybody out there has experience using the #InternetArchive S3-like API with #Laravel or #Flysystem on #PHP?
I can't seem to make it work to upload files but it seems to work fine for other calls. When try to do a PUT it tells me "The AWS Access Key Id you provided does not exist in our records" but I can check for file existence with the same creds just fine.
I have rewritten my personal website with #sveltekit it was a really nice experience! I plan to release new Blog posts about #php , #svelte and #laravel more regular now. If you curious have a look https://www.bitbench.dev/ 😄 btw the code is open source on my GitHub
Today's Doctrine ORM bug: I have a column which is NOT NULL DEFAULT 0. However, the ORM automatically includes every column in INSERT queries, which means there's a NULL value and thus the query fails (I think I also need to specify the default in the ORM to fix this).
Thanks to all who attended my talk “Put a UUID On It!” at #PHPTek, especially to those who laughed at my jokes and got the Portlandia references—you’re the real heroes. 😉
The slides are linked to from Joind.in, and while you’re there, please rate the talk and provide feedback. Thanks!
Looking up "Drupal" and "Notion" and I'm finding how to integrate with the Notion API and I'm like you don't understand I didn't want to work with Notion I wanted to reimplement Notion.
It's okay the urge passed. Just one of those ADHD "I've got a brilliant idea" moments
@philip@randomgeek@codinghorror Taking a broader view, I think #JavaScript, #PHP, and other still-developing multi-paradigm languages are all carcinizing at different rates. We just don’t know what the ideal converged evolution looks like yet.
(The fact that one recent language has an unofficial crab mascot is no indication that’s the one, though. Sorry, #Rustaceans.)
So, this has probably been around forever, but I've never noticed this in a stack trace before "Object(SensitiveParameterValue)"
As in: Fatal error: Uncaught mysqli_sql_exception: No such file or directory in /Users/preinheimer/Sites/localhost/common.php:3 Stack trace: #0 /Users/preinheimer/Sites/localhost/common.php(3): mysqli->__construct('localhost', 'root', Object(SensitiveParameterValue), 'space_trade')
