I've been slowly working on the cat quilt. Top-stitching one little bit or two, pulling the threads to the reverse and finishing them. Put on the binding but didn't take the basting threads off yet. This variegated thread I had perfectly matches! Mom has seen it and likes how it looks and it looks less trash to me, so that's good. Still very hard to get decent photos of.
Domestic bliss at #LikaLodge : It’s #raining. I made a bed for the #Dog. #Bike is here too, covered a bit. #Fireplace & #tea. This morning I had breakfast at sunrise, under #Lipa / #Linden . Earlier I made a room-divider from a #patchwork curtain I got at #DeGrowth conference last year. Memories & fantasies… plus enjoying the moment!
At my sewing machine, first thing this morning. ☕️
4 seams away from finishing the center of my newest quilt.
Then borders & it’ll be complete. 😁👏
New quilt pattern coming soon… 💛💙

Calming down. Drinking mango ayran and stitching away the saturday night. Another embroidered Hexi for my Quilt as you go quilt. What are you crafting tonight?
Neatly snuggled between a small mountain of pillows, snacks and drinks I'm working the saturday evening away on one of my long time crafting projects. (Quilt as you go-Quilt)
I'm curious, what are you doing tonight?
In our Sunday animations in the #culturalHeritage centre, I finished my #visibleMending project: a #secondHand jacket with a completely scuffed collar. For a better look I fixed 2 more patches. All people were very curious. Then the reactions:
⭕️ I would never dare to wear s'th with patches.
⭕️ I never had the time (but they have time for TV, social media etc.) @visiblemending@sewing
Do you remember my #VisibleMending project with a second hand #blazer? https://mastodon.online/@NatureMC/111884442223704931 The collar with a suede imitation was completely worn out. For contrast, I choose a chicken print from the Provence, and for harmony, more patches. It's nearly ready. Problem: the remaining collar tips are unequal. I decided to applicate different motives on them to conceal it. @visiblemending@sewing
1/2 Tomorrow our embroidery club is meeting again and I'm utterly empty of ideas for new art. Time for a piece that I don't have to think much about and that has been lying around unfinished since last year.😏 Haut Couture with a cashmere blazer for 5 E from the second-hand shop and #VisibleMending in contrast. @textilearts@embroidery@sewing

My aunt sent me a kit and pattern with this adorable fabric, BUT I am incapable of following directions and the quilt just really doesn't do justice to the fabrics, so I'm tweaking the pattern. A lot. lol. #quilting#patchwork#sewing#design
Edited to add: original pattern is on the left. Also, not sure why the color is so much less saturated.
And here's the final piece of seasonal sewing, a quilt to welcome our friends' new baby into the world.
The front took way longer than anticipated. Thank goodness bargello patchwork comes together so quickly. I really like the result though, and I'm tempted to try some other kinds of knotwork patterns in the future.
Just finished reading this book last night, but am now turning back to re-read a few sections. Clare Hunter writes wonderfully well and is passionate and very knowledgeable about her subject. I finished the book inspired by the stories she tells, with a list of things to find out more about, and with more than a few project ideas floating around in my head.
Finished the Panel. Thinking about how to proceed? Just sewing it together with some fabric for a simple halloween pillow case? Or should I quilt it? And if I quilt it: How? Via hand? Machine quilting with my sewing machine? (Just did straight lines with a sewing machine while quilting >15 years ago) And which pattern?
It's so clolourful and patternwise is so much going on, but in my mind I see a simple spidernet pattern in white, sewn by machine. What do you think? Would love to hear your ideas and input!
So langsam nimmt mein erstes #Halloween-Projekt Formen an. Es soll ein EPP-Kissenbezug werden, grobes Tutorial puste ich bei Interesse gerne aufs Crafting-Blog hoch.
