My hand written not taking device arrived 5 days early. It's a #Supernote Nomad #S6X2. Time for unboxing. Here's to hoping once it's configured that I can simple turn it on, immediately write as if it were a notepad, then later send OCR'd notes to my #Mac.

GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 8 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage and extensive connectivity, including USB 4.0, HDMI 2.1 and Wi-Fi 6E.
Two weeks in with my first ever #Apple#Notebook (a 16" #M2#MacBookPro) and I have to say, it's a near perfect piece of hardware.
I also like #MacOSVentura. Compared to #Windows11 it might not be quite as feature-rich but it has a way more polished and consistent user experience with seemingly more attention to the details.
Altogether it's a real joy to work with, it makes you want to use it. I never had this experience ever with any of the countless #Windows machines I used in my life.

I've always been fascinated by these small computers. GPD makes these kinds of devices too. Ordered one once but I never got it. Been thinking of building one myself though I'm worried it would be too small to enjoyable use. I would definitely write on it, that I am sure of.

My current bread and butter #notebook is a #MacBook Pro from 2018. I'm still happy even it has only 8GB ram.
But since I joined #Mastodon and see all this #opensource folks here, I'm considering to have a #linux based machine as my next notebook.
Any recommendations?

So it seems my Thinkpad T14 AMD Gen 1 is bricked somehow. No idea how it happened. LEDs and fan are working but I don' t get anything on the screen (internal and external).
Disconnecting batteries and using the reset switch doesn't help.
It seems like these are the typical signs for a bricked BIOS and I'm thinking about trying to reflash the SPI NOR on the mainboard.
Oh dear, why do such things happen when warranty has expired...
