I'm off tomorrow. Not only is it Cinco de Mayo, but it's also my boyfriend's birthday.
I sent my brother a non perishable snack pack along with a Star Wars graphic tee.
Talked about things that irk us with my boyfriend today. I really do love him, but we have to talk about things even when they're not going so well. It was one of our promises to each other from the beginning.
Since it's Star Wars Day, I'll mention a November 1986 "Computer Chronicles" episode on project management software that I previously covered on the blog. Wendy Woods did a remote feature on The Droid Works, a short-lived Lucasfilm subsidiary that attempted to market a commercial videodisc-based editing system called the EditDroid. Woods explained how the Droid Works team used a Macintosh project management program called "Micro Planner" when developing the software for the EditDroid.
Pictured below is Wendy standing in front of a bank of Laserdisc players at The Droid Works offices. She noted the EditDroid software was capable of handling up to eight separate video sources at once.
The late Carrie Fisher received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, which was accepted by her daughter, Billie Lourd. During the ceremony, Lourd said: "My mom was glitter. She covered her world in it both literally and metaphorically. She left a mark of her sparkle on everyone she met."
