Raining on and off all day here. Reminded me I hadn't shared this image in a while. It's one of my favorites. I call it "morning rain on my window pane."
A fallen leaf ringed in frost, which to me also looks like a bronze shield. I find the similarities fitting, as so often, the heart requires a shield to protect it.
Ring-Neck pheasant in the snow, watercolor. These birds are so majestic. When I lived in the midwest, I'd see them out sunning themselves when driving on country roads.
Field of Black Eyed Susans aka Rudbeckia. We always these in our garden. The dense nature of the greenery helps fill in any bare space and come fall, the yellow finch eat maturing seeds from the large dark centers.
