So glad I stopped selling on #eBay about 10 years ago.
Since they introduced algorithms, your auctions now get the same treatment as social media posts. Nobody sees your auction unless you pay to promote it. This is on top of your listing fee.
You basically pay twice to get the same exposure you used to get by default.
That's just the latest of many insults to sellers. I don't understand why people keep using that site to sell stuff.

They suddenly cannot send my book to pickup point so they cancelled my order and now want me to buy it again for higher price?!
Fuck you! I found it somewhere else which would be much more expensive but they have free delivery above some price so I also cancelled my two first volumes of erha from amazon and reorder it in this shop.
Like, I paid a little bit more still but fuck amazon!!!
Maybe it just is me but this seems wrong… you can get all of this software for free and yet people are profiting off of this by buying outdated software on a 40 cent piece of plastic…
Does anyone know if this violates eBay’s #tos as they technically are selling a “physical product”…
eBay sales kinda suck lately, and now they're trying to automatically opt you in to using their international shipping service (they may have opted you in to this- if you don't want it like I don't, go check to be sure).
I go to opt out (since my shipping is included in my U.S. listing price, international shipping is expensive and complicated, I don't like intermediary services, I only ship internationally in certain cases), and I get this. Opt out being processed?
#eBay is such a fragmented company that I can't comprehend how they're still afloat. Every country has their own domain name and their own account system. You can log in on different country sites (having to go through the same process on every one of them), but the feature set is different. It's legacy, built on legacy, built on even more legacy. Like Windows, but way worse :D
Since 2019, I have been trying changing my #eBay account country from Russia to Germany. The option was greyed out. I have contacted eBay via chat multiple times, yet their ‘solutions’ never worked.
Today, I have decided to give them a call. The response was quick and simple: One can't change the country of a .com account. No clue why nobody told me that this whole time.
Have so much extra stuff in my house I need to move on, I've mostly done eBay the last 20 some years but it's been DEAD on there lately. Throwing some stuff on Mercari today to try it out, my friend's had luck on there. Looks kinda promising. Only thing I hate about it is that it's like Amazon, the seller gets paid after the buyer receives the item. I've never liked that, having to front shipping money, but here we are. Also, Mercari's shipping estimates are too low/not updated with USPS' much higher prices now either, I noticed, so I'm just gonna ship myself, I don't want them compensating me wrong, shipping is pretty expensive now. But here we go. Fronting shipping to to try and move some of this stuff. 🙄🤣
This week i was looking to complete one of the master system games in my games collection. while I couldn't find a copy of this game with just the cart and box, I found a partially intact sealed copy of Missle Defense 3-D
Normally I wouldn't go for anything like this since I already had a manual, but I couldn't resist when I saw all the Montgomery Wards pricing stickers on it!
With the first sticker date of (July 2?) 1988 and the last sticker date of September 1996, this unopened game likely sat on store shelves for around 9 years before it finally sold.
Now I just gotta get a case I can put this in to preserve it. I will not be having this graded because FUCK WATA
One of my eBay saved searches alerted me to a new Commodore A1060 sidecar expansion. I would so love this to go with my Amiga 1000.
A PC hardcard in an ISA slot on the A1060 was the first official manner through which Commodore offered a hard disk expansion for the Amiga. A video card can be put in the unit to allow for dual-head usage of the Amiga 1000, one screen Amiga, one DOS PC. I'd love to get a Hercules in there, driving a side display.
Small rant. I’m trying to sell my stuff online. I was immediately permabanned by #eBay and #Poshmark, most likely due to my active #mullvad VPN connection and associated IP.
I’m glad I signed up for Mercari from my mobile, sans VPN.
