Ron Perlman not mincing his words. We love to see it.
Regarding the SAG-AFTRA strike, one executive said “the endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses.”
Ron calls him out on it. Rightfully and forcefully.
The hungry of this world are still dying every day.
Between 2014 and 2023 alone +56000 migrants died or disappeared in the Mediterranean, victims of #capitalism and #imperialism.
#PoliticalEconomy#Inflation#Neoliberalism#ClassWar: "So this is where we have arrived in 2023: to bring inflation back to 2 per cent while preserving the banks, common sense insists that we need higher interest rates for longer, plus austerity. And, at this point, you have to ask whether western elites have learnt anything from the last decade and a half.
How long is it since we were calling for a new social contract, championing democracy against lopsided capitalism and asserting the priority of sustainable development and the climate crisis? Of course, price stability is important and even moderate inflation inflicts real costs, notably on vulnerable groups. But the cost of living crisis is a social problem that should be addressed with adequate welfare support.
We are told that abandoning 2 per cent would make a society such as Britain into a joke. There are plenty of ways in which the UK has made itself a laughing-stock of late, but to use that as an argument for a radical and deliberately recessionary policy is to add injury to insult. You don’t demonstrate that you are serious by compulsively clinging to symbols and obsessing about your reputation. It is precisely that kind of politics, piled on top of years of austerity, that led Britain into the folly of Brexit."
In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf. One Sunday morning the warm sun came up….and POP, out of the egg came a tiny, very hungry caterpillar.
He started looking for some food.
On Monday he ate through one middle manager. But he was still hungry.
On Tuesday he ate through two day traders, but he was still hungry.
On Wednesday he ate through three hedge fund managers, but he was still hungry.
On Thursday he ate through four Pinkertons, but he was still hungry.
On Friday he ate through five Heritage Foundation economists, but he was still hungry.
On Saturday he ate through Charles Koch's left pointer finger, David Koch's spleen, Mark Zuckerberg's inhuman face, the mahogany meeting table of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Warren Buffet's eye, the Tesla Roadster in Earth's orbit, the new headquarters of Twitter, Elon Musk's left foot, the Amazon anti-union consultants, Jeff Bezos' second rocket, and Jeffery Bezos' jugular vein. That night he had a stomach ache!
The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through the decaying body of Ronald Wilson Reagan, and after that he felt better. Now he wasn't hungry anymore--and he wasn't a little caterpillar anymore. He was a big fat #anticapitalist caterpillar.
He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks.
Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and...He became a butterfly of the #revolution!
So it seems the 'wage-price' spiral may not be a complete figment of political rhetoric; its just that its not #publicsector or the #lowpaid who are the one's receiving #inflation inducing pay rises... no, its the top 1% of earners who are actually the one's getting pay rises above inflation.
It makes further mockery of the notion that striking #NHS#workers & others are the greedy causes of inflation.
Blaming workers for this inflation is not analysis its #classwar
"It is the job of the #LaborMovement’s institutions to turn that enthusiasm into the maximum possible gain. That’s where the malfunction is. We have an army ready to fight the #ClassWar led by generals who have been trained to assume that it is unwinnable."
The Supreme #Court is laughably #corrupt and always has been. It’s not some special #institution detached from #politics, it’s just hidden behind layers of #technocracy and #institutional gate keeping so people can’t see that it’s just as corrupt as the other two branches of #government.
#Social#murder (German: sozialer Mord) is the unnatural death that occurs due to social, political, or economic oppression. The phrase was coined by Friedrich Engels in his 1845 work The Condition of the Working-Class in England whereby "the class which at present holds social and political control" (i.e. the bourgeoisie) "places hundreds of proletarians in such a position that they inevitably meet a too early and an unnatural death".[1 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_murder
Someone reports an integer overflow flaw in #curl. Counting milliseconds in a 64 bit variable still needs 292 million years until it wraps. I think we're safe.
Some global context on the impact of the spike in #inflation caused (in the main) by the #energycrisis - a stark indication of the transfer of income from #workers to energy firms #shareholders (in terms of increased profits in the energy sector).
If you wanted some stats on the rich's #classwar on the rest of us, this would be a good candidate
This evening I made the mistake of eating my tea while watching the #C4News piece on a group of England's chinless wonders apologising for their slave-owning ancestors. It made me want to puke.
The aristocrats, who say they want to stimulate a conversation, call for the state to make reparations. To whom?
These parasites should have their assets confiscated and titles liquidated, and be hunted for sport by the oppressed of all colours.
@Brendanjones@peter well its part of decomposting capitalist multinationals. They are also not democratic with all the exploitation and stolen resources. #sinkTheRich#classWar
