Two factor authentication is the bane of my existence. It is #ANNOYING! I misplace all the time. This may be related to my #ADHD but maybe not since that hasn’t improved since my doctor put me on Vyvanse while everything else in my life more-or-less has. From a security standpoint I get it, but I do get so concerned about how much of one’s identity is tied to your phone these days. Not only does that hurt people who chose not to have a cell phone, but how easy is it for me to lose everything if someone else steals my cell phone.
In fact Facebook requiring me to activate #2FA to continue to utilize my account was the primary driving factor between me using Friendica as my primary social media now rather than Facebook, even though I first joined the ‘verse back in 2011, when it was called simply open source microblogging and was pretty much just identi.ca/feeds/7gqal0c2pesei9… (if you had an account there, it still works BTW and @evan has indicated he plans to integrate ActivityPub by this summer, after its previous protocols, StatusNet and Pump.io, have fell out of favor). @passwords@neurodiverse@netsec@ADHD kill-the-newsletter.com/altern…

Anyone else get annoyed by people on being in their phone while walking down the street? I know I do some times (and also do it myself but don’t tell anyone…).
Well I’ve just seen a man walking down the street read a book, and I’m struggling to work out whether I should be annoyed or not.
TFW I sign into Windows for the first time in over 300 days, let it update for a while, then Windows bumps itself above Ubuntu so I can't log into Linux anymore so I have to look up how to load up the BIOS menu so I can realign the boot order, and putting Ubuntu back above Windows.
I may have spent more of today than I'll admit in creating tiny beepy things with #MicroPython that chirp in accordance with Dolbear's “law” of cricket chirp rate vs temperature
A bucket of chirping Raspberry Pi Pico “crickets”. Each of them chirp at a slightly different pitch, and their chirp speed is controlled by the internal temperature sensor according to a formula observed by Amos Dolbear in 1897 #RaspberryPi #futile #crickets #entomology #electronics #annoying#MicroPython
#opensource chat server Rocket Chat decided to make their latest upgrade plain abusive. If you run your own, you are now required to enrole in a trial of their premium proprietary nonsense and it's likely the server is spying on it's admins and users.
great
Looks like #inkscape is going to have to move chat systems. There's just no way to regain trust in an upstream that is abusive. Not without forking away from the abusers.
TFW you accidentally delete the screenshots you took in Animal Crossing instead of press the share to phone button and lose the cool shots you just took of your new post-apocalyptic area of your island.
We still have a land line telephone, though we both have cell phones as well. The home phone is inundated with calls from telemarketers, which is annoying at best. I get the idea, that it's a job for somebody, but I don't entertain the idea of doing any business, I didn't initiate, with strangers over the telephone. Another weird thing is that often when we answer the phone and say hello, there is nothing from the other end - quiet. Lately, I've taken up a tactic that I use when I don't recognize a number and I get a call ID description of wireless caller or out of area. I answer the phone as:" Alfred's Unicycle Universe."

I can't be the only one to find #irony in you scolding him for talking about how the #scolding minority culture online, and Mastodon in particular, is #annoying.
