One of the rarest Topcon accessory is the UV mount adapter. If you look at a UV mount lens, it has no aperture control ring. Works on a UV mount camera as the camera has an aperture ring on the mount. the other Topcon cameras used the R or RE mount (based on exakta) so they made an adapter. Not that many were sold, or maybe they got discarded as people though it was just random lens parts… at any rate they rarely show up for sale anywhere.
So imagine my surprise when i stumbled upon this lens. Looks like an exakta or early tamron adaptamatic lens, then you recognize the silver band and focus ring as Topcon UV topcor. that’s what the seller tells you, based on the beauty ring. But the mount is wrong. Then, 💡
There is a UV adapter mounted on it. But it is stuck and wobbly, possibly damaged. The aperture ring is also stuck. So maybe it wont be of any use… or perhaps i can repair the adapter… #photography#lens#adapter#topcon

Why not asking here for some advice ? 🙂 I know there are a few around but what you'd recommend as a #JAMMA#adapter for #raspberrypi 3 to connect it to a cab with an #Hantarex#CRT ? I've seen things with prices going from quite some hundreds to 50 pounds or so. What's a good choice ? Ta 🙂

I've got this data-complex astronomy project I'm working on (pro-bono).
I have a number of different backends I pull from (NASA, Unis,. etc) all who use diff field names for the same thing resulting in lots of tedious (and future error-prone) data parsing and checking code.
Was hoping to use something like pydantic as an in-between translator/mapper of thediff fields to the same schema(s).
I haven't looked for a PyPI module to do this, specifically. In the past, I've done simple functions with dict lookups to map keys from one source to a canonical value, or with Pydantic, use alternate constructors that you call depending on which source you're dealing with.
