@br00t4c This is so true. My son was diagnosed autistic when he was 6 but all through the diagnostic process we talked about the process. That they were looking at how to help him because his brain works a little differently. He's always known he's different but has had strong role models (eg autistic drum teacher). His high school had a large ND community and friendships within that group also helped friendships with NTs. He knows he will always have issues, but at 17 he can now self advocate
Took the afternoon off so I could attend the retirement celebration of an elementary teacher in C’ville. Mrs. Rooze took my wife under her wing and helped her start her teaching journey. She has been a mentor, confidant, and friend for the last 25 years. We wouldn’t be who we are today without her. #Teachers are the best.
