You're trying to enjoy a nice evening of wargaming with your horse, then some guy in a fluffy-fronted shirt walks in, threatens you with a pencil and steals your whiskey.
One of the main things I get out of play-testing with real people is watching what they are trying to do, and making it as simple as possible for them to do it. Simplification of the original idea is always at the heart of any game design. Hopefully my test this evening will be as simple as possible.
Used this cool tool at pubmeeple.com that can pull in your whole BGG collection and then starts asking you to compare game over game to try to work out the ranking of your collection. Here is what ended up being my top 9 #BoardGames
Toying around with changing up the style of my YouTube thumbnails for my #BoardGame reviews. Any opinion on old vs new? Putting a poll in the comments if you want to vote! Old style is the one with the white on left, new is the other.
Me, my wife, and our 7-year old got time to try out Blacksmiths of Steinnheimr tonight and it was great fun. Age on the box says 14+ but the 7 yo killed it. Of course, her mom ended up being the victor because she wins everything. I really liked the mechanics of having a shared pool of workers and placing one then picking up one each turn, to trigger 2 actions.
I've made it out of the room to at least sit and watch my son at the #SoundWaves indoor water park. Brought a long #Dustrunner a #solo only #BoardGame that comes in the size of a mint tin.
I've yet to beat this but maybe I will ok this #Thanksgiving evening
First game in the books for #BoardGame day. Taught Linds how to play #Apiary and surprise, she won! Of course! She throttled me so bad I don't even want to post the score. So here is a pretty picture instead.
Tried my hand at Scenario 2 of #solo#FitToPrint and sadly, I lost by a hand full of points. I grabbed entirely too many tiles on first two days and scored a ton of negative points. It's amazing how many fewer tiles you can fit on Friday compared to Sunday.
