@qlp Taken from us too soon. #Hemmer was my favorite character behind #Ortegas. I wanted both of them to have waaaay more screentime and story development.
Amazing how the original #StrangeNewWorlds characters that aren't just #TOS rehashes are the most interesting. Hope #StarTrek can keep looking ahead post #TNG#DS9#VOY instead of yet another prequel/reboot.
NEW FANON: After the Federation heisted the Romulan cloaking device in TOS, they had no idea how to use it safely. The act of turning it on folded the timeline in on itself weirdly, undoing its own theft and blunting every civilization-changing technological discovery thereafter. #StarTrekhttps://lediva.masto.host/@LeDiva/112519037851363145
We've started #StarTrek Lower Decks season 4. I did not understand any of the Voyager references in S4E1 other than the lizards from That One Episode, but I absolutely caught and appreciated the nod to the Most Important Device in the Universe in S4E2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phPp5oYnps0&t=54s
I'm watching #Babylon5 and we're near the end of season 1.
Definitely discount DS9 so far. They sure did include an episode where the creepy 50-something alien dude decided to introduce another character to strip clubs and gambling, and the way he cheats at poker is using some sort of prehensile sticky tentacle-like appendage to reach across under the table and steal cards from the dealer.
Later confirmed, yes. That sure was a sex organ.
I'm glad that kind of humor has mostly died.
@Artemis201 "discount DS9"? Well, in one sense you are correct. JMS didn't have #StarTrek money. Esp. after he pitched #Babylon5 to Trek producers (and he had spent years pitching B5 everywhere) and they said no and then they went and created a show based on a space station anyways, with almost the same general story arc, and even stole the name Dukat. So, no, #B5 didn't have Trek money. The irony is #StarTrekDS9 is the best Trek series of them all and it was completely plagiarized.
If we’re headed to Starfleet Academy next, I need a classroom scene where we get a final explanation for Klingon physiology. Enterprise explained TOS look, but that look’s not used anywhere else, and then Discovery makes like five different looks, none of which are that one. #StarTrek
And this doesn’t even reach the fact that after Discovery introduces half a dozen or so of new Klingon looks, even from then on we basically only ever see Worf-style ones. So (1) why only humanlike during TOS and (2) why only Worf-like after Discovery? #StarTrek
I was rewatching some Star Trek TNG and some Voyager.
Voyager is OK but Chakotay and his pseudo native stuff are annoying, and good god neelix is just annoying AF, the Jar Jar binks of ST, Kess kind of sucks, Tom Paris is pretty tedious. too. . . #startrek#voyager#TNG
How would you feel if you had to go back in time and watch your young self receive the worst bullying of your life all over again? How can Spock’s dad stand by and watch his son endure this trauma and not intervene? Are the big expectations placed on Vulcan children healthy or harmful?
I continue to hold out hope that someday we’ll have 4K remastering of #StarTrek#DeepSpaceNine. These restored clips just look so damned good. The show deserves it through and through. https://youtu.be/6FSud5Hl0Tc
The original Star Trek episode “Errand of Mercy” is considered a classic, and now 57 years later, its epic consequences are still being felt. (screenrant.com)
