What does everyone use to dock their #steamdeck - the official dock or a cheaper third party USB C hub? I’m looking to get one and if I can get a cheaper alternative all the better. Then I’ll connect my #stadia controller to get some more use out of that...
In other Deck news, Balatro really is as good as you may have heard #GOTY
The saga of Waverley Park — Melbourne's car-dependent suburban AFL stadium with a planned seated capacity of over 150,000 (not a typo!)
A really good run down by @philip on the plans by the AFL (and its predecessor, the VFL) to build the world's largest stadium in outer-suburban Melbourne.
Unfortunately, a planned railway line past the stadium to Rowville was never built. That meant a massive 25,000-spot car park as the only real means to get there.
While most of it has been demolished and redeveloped for housing, the oval itself still used by Hawthorn Football Club as a training and administration centre.
I'm setting up a #Stadia controller for a bit of #retrogaming tonight, and it feels like shaking hands with an old friend. If that friend had to be cross-eyed to fix a weird lag thing.
This is one of the greatest gamepads ever, and trust me, I have a few. Practically, it feels like a Dual Shock 4 except curvier and clickier, and a D-pad that doesn't hate your thumb. If you're looking for a gamepad, get one of these on eBay, get the Bluetooth update on it, try reWASD for mapping, and get gaming!
I managed to collect something truly special this week - this is the #Stadia Launch Team controller! A limited number of these were made as gifts to the launch team in 2019, and a fraction of those have appeared for sale in the intervening years.
These are nonfunctional - they lack several components that would make them work as regular Stadia pads - and while a couple of people have refitted theirs with the hardware from a founders' edition controller, I am choosing not to do that to mine.
I plan to take many more photos of this thing and its stand in the coming days, but for now, here's a couple of quick snaps while I'm still tidying up some loose ends for work for the year. Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see/know about this thing! #Stadia

Got this interesting find yesterday at a local #thriftstore. A #stadia controller in basically mint condition. Missing the Chromecast Ultra tho, can't say I'm surprised by that. But now that you can turn these into regular Bluetooth controllers after the shutdown of the Stadia service, you can still use them. I got this for €20, which is a good price if you ask me when you take into consideration that a #Xbox or #playstation controller can be around €50 - €70! #thrifting
