Last year the code for the PSX game Wipeout was leaked and this chap rewrote the code so you can play the game in the browser for free. I made a video about it, it's deffo worth a look.
Been a minute so new #Introduction
I’m a IT guy who got bored during the pandemic and somehow got popular on #Tiktok talking about #3Dprinting, networking, #cryptocurrency ,#linux ,and #cybersecurity. I stream on Twitch #gamingonlinux and all my random hacking projects. I love #dogs and will mostly talk about tech, rarely do I mention politics but it’s mostly cyber and privacy rights. Also I make #music as a hobby sometimes and rock a classic iPod I modified myself. I’ll be on #youtube soon too
Got in late had to send work emails for my own business as dentistry is going crazy since Henry Schein was compromised. I’ll be on #Twitch soon just feeding the dog and getting out of my work pants and ordering some food. We’ll show off the pinephone I got and play Star Citizen and talk #IT#cybersecurity and #infosec as well among other things. We’ll of course be #GamingonLinux#Gaming#linuxhttps://twitch.tv/ChiefGyk3D
Last night, I wanted to show off my little dice rolling tool I made in Unity a few years ago. But I made it before switching to Linux, so all I had was a Windows build.
Now, apparently Unity on Windows defaults to DirectX 11. "No problem!" I thought, and installed DXVK. And then the penny dropped...
My laptop is so old, that it doesn't even support Vulkan properly. :drgn_flat_x_x:
And I never noticed this, because I only ever ran DirectX 9 games through Gallium Nine.
Well, another reason to continue the conversion to Godot...
When a new GE-proton version from @gloriouseggroll is out, I always download it through Protonup-QT, and set all my games' runners to the new version manually.
Now, when Lutris boots, it downloads the latest version automatically, and sets all unassigned games' runners to newest GE-proton as default.
Oh, beta playtest for #Sunnyside from #RainyGames starts this Friday. Had fun with the alpha, but now that the game is feature- complete it'll be a very different experience.
Wonder if it'll work on #Linux #Gaming#GamingOnLinux#steam
#SleepingDogs is $3 rn, and if you don't already own it then you should do yourself a favor and like... own it. It's a great game, if you like crime dramas, games that are like GTA but better (imo), and games that are fun.
Ugh, I really love #Valve and the #SteamDeck but today was just one of these days... My #ArchLinux#PC just doesn't open the steam overlay anymore, which is really annoying when using a controller.
Then I tried to play some #Everspace 2 using Remote Play on the Steam Deck. It wouldn't let me set the 1280x800 resolution, and apparently the game crashes when opening the Steam menu. Well, I tried to use the #SteamLink app which didn't crash but just went back to its own main menu.
Alright, I thought, and went to install Everspace 2 locally on the Deck, which went quick because of the new local network transfer feature. While that was downloading, I saw that there is a software update. Hoping that things would improve, I applied it immediately. The system rebooted and it didn't resume the transfer... BECAUSE THE SD CARD WAS GONE.
It actually destroyed the filesystem on the SD card and I had to reformat. Not that big of a deal because I could just redownload everything, but...
Jeez Valve... fix your stuff. They did some amazing stuff, but they really need to focus on bugfixes more.
I bought No Man's Sky several years ago (not at release), but never got into it beyond playing a few hours. I'm not sure why, but this week I decided to give it another go, it's a bit overwhelming with how much stuff there is in the game, but I'm having fun. A few YouTube videos have helped a bit. Currently I'm just doing what I feel like, learning slowly and not very focused.
Plan to waste too many hours this weekend in the game.
Uno de los mejores shooters verticales que he jugado, con excelente música, deslumbrantes colores y un estilo visual pixeloso y mangoso, Blue Revolver. Está en oferta con un 50% menos en #Steam. #gamingOnLinux#Linux#Pixelart#Gaming#videojuegos
