@PKL I agree, there's quite a few great tools that didn't make this list, which is weird because it's not like they did a top 10 or top five. They did 11 which is such an awkward number. You would think they could have included a couple of more great tools

There’s gloomy speculation about the measures management may take to make the company profitable — which Subreddits might be banned, how much users might have to pay to post, a heavier ad load, etc.

They already Disallowed NSFW reedits from being accessed through the API (and therefore any third party apps)

Users are also mad that Aaron Swartz has been erased as a co-founder.

via: @omgubuntu

WARP is a new Closed-source Terminal written in Rust with AI built in, and it functions a lot like an IDE, rather than a traditional terminal.

The link above contains a really impressive demo video. The features are too numerous to list here, I highly suggest you click through and read the article at OMGUbuntu and watch the video.

@Abandoned @omgubuntu

As said before, The alternative is milti-gig download and huge resource load to use the LLM/AI locally.

I would like to see a version without the AI, that could then drop the account & Net connection features, but keep the other hundreds of neat things it does that no one is talking about.

Theeo123,
@Theeo123@mastodon.social avatar

@fribbledom @Abandoned @omgubuntu

I hate that it's not open, though apparently there is talk of it becoming so in the future.

  • Shrug *
    I think outside the AI bits, it still has a lot of neat features.

Again way above what I need mind you, my terminal exists mostly for running yay once in a while

I agree, I believe it was introduced to Mac first, but still......

It's like trying to sell NASCAR merchandise to climate activists.

I'd love to see some of the concepts picked up by some of the other more progressive terminal emulator projects out there, see what they could do with them.
