So I got a Raspberry Pi 4 for Christmas and I think I’m going to use it to go #SelfHosted with certain services and educate myself on #DigitalSovereignty. Do any mastonauts have resource recommendations for me? Complete linux/networking noob here.

I have been #SelfHosting for almost two decades, but while I did dabble with many tweaks (often failed), I still consider myself a noob on many aspects.
I hacked together an @armbian#Armbian image with Megi's kernel and Proxmox-Arm64 and... it just works!
I'm using a SATA SSD and a NVME SSD as storage. OS is installed on the SD card.
Currently running a Rocky9 container and a Debian 12 VM.
As much as I like #Armbian, the fact that it does not start the PWM fan of my #nvidia Jetson Nano device is a serious problem during the summer. 🥵
My device already overheated and shut down today. Only workaround I found so far was to throttle #CPU at 50% max speed, which for now keeps the system stable at below 60°C, but is far from ideal.
Anyone who knows how to get the #PWM Fan working, please talk to me 🙂
I have a spare Z69 4K Android TV box here and no use for it at the moment. It served for a few years as exactly what is was sold for, later I flashed Kodi on it for a while and after that it served as a WFH RDP Client for another while with Armbian flashed on it....
Moving from openmediavault (#omv) to plain #armbian with #nfs file sharing and a simple #rdiff backup cron job on my underpowered #helios4#nas has dramatically reduced power consumption and overall stability. Highly recommended!
What to do with a Z69 Android Box?
