Granada province still has free tapas with every drink. And, long may it continue! Here's some tapas our group were given after our hike yesterday at Bar Faroles in Lanjaron
Last night I stayed in the pretty town of Cómpeta, so that today I'm around early to join a group hiking in the Sierra de Almijara. This scene is typical of the villages in this area
Nice to be out with my two daughters yesterday. They joined a group I was out with above the Hoya del Portillo in Spain's Sierra Nevada. Lovely day, nice temperatures and the predicted afternoon storms didn't materialise.

The mountain ranges of #Andalucía in southern #Spain were home to #wolves for centuries. But then, habitat loss, #hunting, and poaching began to take their toll.
The wolves slowly dwindled. By 2013, the Spanish government could find almost no sign of them. This summer, they were declared totally extinct.
We took the dogs to the river for a walk today. It's really a stream, not rivers how we know them to be, but hey it's a close to a river you get around here. Anyway for the summer months they partially dam part of it to make a pool. Two years ago we taught our dogs to swim here and each year we visit a couple of times. Arko was straight in no encouragement needed ❤️ #dogs#swimming#Spain#andalucia#dogsofmastodon#husky#rescuedog
The three chambered cairns just outside Antequera (#Andalucia) are rightly famous but this is the only one open to the public. Tholos de El Romeral, also known as Cueva de Romeral.
