Dr. Heilbronn was 357 years old, at least parts of his body were. He was a cyborg, implanted into a first generation cybot7 in the year 2089. Some considered him evil, but he insisted he was a servant of Humanity. Heilbronn had an obsessive habit of pointing while explaining things, and insisted on keeping his right index finger for that purpose, even though the bone was protruding. When asked about this he pointed and said, “Courage, my friend, is sticking to the point, no matter how painful.”

"To feed you. I'm heating food. Our technology is for survival. We cannot travel far. Eat. I shall introduce you to the others."
"Demons," it said, puffing something that smelled of sulfur and chlorine. "Super-tech, some still awake. Are you a treasure-hunter? Your people create technology first, then race for the wisdom to control it. Why make that race harder?"
"I'm looking for someone."
"Then I will take you, but the only things you will find down there are humility and death."
