In other "news" Tucker Carlson went on "The Rogan Experience" and denied that evolution by means of natural selection explained the diversity & history of living things on earth.

Said there was "no evidence" humans could have evolved "from a single cell organism"

It's impossible to know if he's just saying this for attention.

I've always said science would be next. Tucker is the vanguard of the far right. Give it five years and you'll have congress members wanting this in your schools.

I find this so sinister and ominous. I expect people to be more up in arms about this kind of thing... It's literally that 2+2=5 stuff from 1984 that people on the right always say the left is doing.

IDK... there are so few things we really do know. How could we take one away from from young people?

It really is dangerous for people to know too much about how nature, and physics and math really work.

All of these subjects can become subversive since they tend to lead to you greater questions.

The idea that yes we did evolve from single celled organisms is both true and subversive to what people like Tucker might call "the natural order"

Ain't nothing natural about it babyface and your mama was a protist.

In Kentucky I've heard people say their teachers ripped the evolution science pages out, or skipped over them, in public school, not just private ones. Which is one reason Ky is so close to the bottom in academic rankings. It's already happening. Red state kids can't compete with Russian and Chinese students as it is. There is no chance the US will keep up in biotech and other cutting edge fields. The religious right prizes ignorance. The US has no future with them in charge.

@shekinahcancook @futurebird I was just reading that a rep. named Pratt got a bill though the KY house to loosen state child labor restrictions. His angle was to help young people earn money for college or what not, in fact Rep. Pratt owns a landscaping business. Obviously he just wants to exploit child labor to save a buck. Evil is as evil does. And these evil fuckwits have the gall to call themselves Christians.

They believe in slavery. They know good and well no wealthy white kids are going to be doing those jobs - the end result is an uneducated slave class and wealthy robber barons. It's the coal fields 2.0 complete with sixth grade dropouts and company towns.
