Do you know any of these guys? This was on the balcony of the old French control tower at #Danang, #Vietnam, ca 1969. I'm the good looking guy holding the camera. The #VA is adamant I get tested for #AgentOrange exposure. I don't need no steenkin' tests, I know I was exposed. I'd like to know if any of the guys in the pic have had cancer or other AO related effects. I keep telling the #VA, at my age, I'm gonna die sooner than later but now, I'm curious. Thanks.
@Yoshi My then new hubby was stationed there with an Aviation/avionics? (bad memory now) unit. Lost him to a game they played out of boredom, setting off hand grenades in empty metal barrels. He wasn't informed as he came around a corner. Gone. It's been a long time now, but honestly, all war looks the same. I'm glad you're here. Hope you are too
@Lizette603_23 I'm so sorry to hear that. Young guys, boredom and weapons is a bad combination. I watched too many aluminum coffins being shipped out of DaNang.
@Yoshi It was a tough time to be involved from a distance, I can't even imagine the impact from being there. Somehow I never blamed anything or anyone, just thought of it as the worst kind of bad luck, you know? Sure you know better than I do. anyway, three lifetimes ago.
@Lizette603_23 Thanks, after two years talking it out with a VA therapist, my head is screwed on tightly, again. It's 85F with a slight breeze in my part of AZ.
@Yoshi ahhhhh sounds beautiful. Here it's about 74, high high clouds, beautiful breeze, all the garden seedlings are wiggling in it happily....cats sleeping by the screen doors...pretty much perfection.
