@cstross For a USA analogy, this is like if Trump set up his own party and Republicans decided to vote for the Trump Party instead of the Republican Party.
@david1 A bit of an oversimplification: Reform UK is the suit-wearing successor to the BNP, UKIP, and other far-right (xenophobic, racist) parties to the right of the Tories. Farage is their de-facto leader, but the movement will continue if he drops dead tomorrow: this is less clear of MAGA and Trump.
@tinheadned He got into the European Parliament regularly but persistently failed in Westminster. It was his grift (he has a huge for-life pension from the EP). Winning the Brexit referendum was actually very bad for him—Boris Johnson reaped the rewards and Farage took the blame.
