Grab PH should not be allowed to buy Foodpanda PH because that would create a virtual monopoly in online food delivery services. Grab PH already controls the 4-wheeled-vehicle ride hailing market when it bought Uber PH.
With their 25% cut for every product, I'm really surprised why very few local businesses (especially those with established brands) are using alternatives. Grab offers a "marketing" incentive, but that goes the same for everyone in the app (including competitors), so no advantage, really .
@gowin@jikodesu@DocCarms On my area, Foodpanda is king. I could see one Grab rider to every 5 pink ones. Meron rin kaming OrderMo na parang 2nd place next to Foodpanda. Maxim naman usually non-food pabili and point to point deliveries. It would be a sad day if Grab decides to kill off FP for their all-in-one Grab app.
@onat
Personally, I haven't tried FoodPanda. Occasionally, I use GrabFood, like desperate for a particular kind of food, but I prefer fresh meals right off the kitchen.
@gowin@jikodesu@DocCarms I ordered thru Grab once, when I found out the don't do FoodPanda. And prices on Grab are noticeably more compared to FP. I remember craving for Razon's halo-halo back then and they only do Grab. Each serving has about 30+PHP added and a separate delivery fee. I went to their store personally on that scorching afternoon. 😂
