Timers don't sync from Apple Watch to iPhone, do they?

lymond,

@glennf Nor do they sync between HomePods, which means that, from my sofa, I can set up a cacophony of different timers at once between my Apple Watch, HomePods, iPhone, and iPad.

imarc,

@glennf you’ll get the notification on the watch from an iPhone timer, but not vice versa

@glennf
They don’t sync either direction, but you can enable push alerts from the iPhone to the Apple Watch. I like that setting because it’s easier to get the noise to shut up on the watch.

On the phone: open the Watch App then go to Clock > Push Alerts from iPhone.

@glennf timers set on the phone create an alert on the watch.

Timers set on the watch do not create one on the phone.

@glennf no and it’s maddening. I can be cooking and set a timer via Siri, and a few minutes later when I ask how much time is left, some other device will reply that there are no timers running.

jacobrealo,

@glennf It’s the other way around: iPhone to Apple Watch.

recmroom,

@glennf even alarms don’t. It can only sync from iPhone to watch but not the other way around I think

@glennf I believe you don’t see the countdown but I’m pretty sure you get alarm at the end of it.
