Do you ever think about how the writers of the cheapo Home Alone cash-in "Blank Check" were really focused on the idea that a bank would not normally actually simply cash a check such as the one at the center of the movie's plot and so they devote an incredible amount of work to contriving a set of circumstances that would cause a bank to not follow the security procedures which a bank in the real world ordinarily be expected to follow when cashing an unusually large check

The vlogger says "subscribe so you don't miss it!". At that exact moment, assuming you are not full screen, a little rainbow shimmer runs over the "Subscribe" button under the video.

…did the vlogger set a flag somewhere, or is Google doing speech rec to look for the word "subscribe" in videos and triggering a CSS effect when it finds it? Does this happen in all videos now?

@mcc oh wow I think it's because it sees "subscribe" in the closed captions? I can't tell if the captions were supplied or auto-generated so I wonder if it just works on voice recognition alone...

I've now got like, 5 different SD cards containing different special things inserted into different devices in this room, and if I took them out and tossed them in a plastic baggie I'd have no way of telling them apart. And unlike, say, floppies they're too small to write on or print out a label for. I feel like I need a solution for this.

Maybe at some point I'll have a storage solution where I put labels on ziploc bags, put labels on the ziploc bags, then put them in a bigger ziploc bag.

    @mcc it's a poker roguelike with hundreds of silly jokers! I've felt like, zero of the usual high stakes of roguelikes

    it's fun when a run comes together but there's so much neat stuff to discover and experiment with that losing barely registers, it's just fun to play again and try different stuff
