One of my projects this weekend was to frame the garden with a well buried garden border. Garden is 10’x30’. I know, pretty small.

Why you ask? Mole and/or vole control.

I had created a barrier on one side to block their path last year and guess what? It worked. So, I wrapped it around the whole garden.

I read they burrow about an inch or two under the surface. If they come up against an obstacle, they go around, but not up or down.

They get to live!

Here’s one vote for not Nazis. Can’t speak for the rest of white America, though. There’ll be plenty of people who vote to end democracy. There will also be plenty that won’t vote at all due to one issue or the other that’s disenfranchised them. Those are also votes for Nazis.

My favorite struggle foods at the moment are in the first place, unshelled, roasted, lightly salted pistachios. Second place, avocado with olive oil. Third place, microwave ready frozen lasagna (bolognese or verduro)

I’m sure those are very nice lasagnes. However, I choose Auntie PJ’s lasagne every single time. Never had such quality Italian food in my life. It does help that she’s Italian. 😂

My first place comfort food is my homemade taco salad. It has all the makings of a taco, including avocado. I always make too much on purpose. Yumm.

@Kierkegaanks Hamburger, nacho cheese Doritos (my change from my mothers regular corn tortillas), kidney beans, lettuce, tomato (preferably from my garden), grated cheddar, avocado and the dressing is, get this and don’t judge until you’ve tried it, mayo/ketchup.

If you’d like the play by play, I’d gladly do it. People get turned off by the essentially thousand island dressing, but I have yet to meet anyone that’s tried it not come back for seconds. 😀

My mother used to make a huge bowl of it for church socials. Bowl was always empty about 15 minutes in. One guy would just pile half his plate with it. She had so many requests for the recipe… it was one of this proud moments in life for her.

I do think I’ve improved the recipe. More meat and using Doritos instead of tortilla chips and about 3/4 the amount of lettuce.
