It's the little things. Fixed a broken part from my wife's favorite mug. I have justified the printer to the spouse once again. #3dprinting#BambuLab#ondsel#freecad
I think I'm going to start downloading #meme templates and making @GIMP template files for them.
I do wish there was an easier way to make the "white text, black outline" than just doing a "alpha selection + grow + fill" process. Definitely feels like one of those things that should be an option in the text tool or a plug-in, but I don't know how to make gimp plugins.
@whitequark very much feeling it. I'm prepping for an fpga dev interview tomorrow, and at this point I just want to wander off into the forest and eat lichen.
@cliffwade@beardedtechguy@Vivaldi for me after using mouse features on desktop I can't go back. I kept finding myself trying to do them on other browsers. Also the mobile tab stacking feels way more intuitive than other browsers.
2027 back to the future with Timothy Chalamet as Marty McFly, Bill Hader as Doc Brown, Dakota Fanning as Lorraine, and the cybertruck as the time machine.
@argv_minus_one@bynkii@scottsantens "so why try at all" is the way this argument is coming across, and it's the same one all the rich assholes insinuate when this conversation comes up.
@MLE_online I could see that working.
There's an Indian Pizza place near me that is AMAZING! They have a Saag Paneer pizza that's almost worth dying over.
It basically means there's the perfect amount of naan bread in every bight. https://www.yelp.com/biz/tikka-pizza-kitchen-escondido
The panel-mounted jack for the foot pedal slipped into the interior of my sewing machine, and the only way to access it was to open up the machine. I'll be stunned if (a) I can get it back together with all the parts & screws in the right places and (b) it works properly afterwards. 🤞🤞🤞
@geekmomprojects yay! and also well done. I am not looking forward to ever having to work on my machine. I think of myself being fairly tech/mech savvy, but sewing machines are the devils magic.
Also I think I have the same(or same line) machine. I've been very happy with it for the price.
@gabek I like it as an interesting dystopian language evolution. The kids started saying it to get around tiktok's draconian auto-moderation and it's just inserted itself into the general colloquial lexicon. I imagine it's already making its way into language study classes.
Does anyone else get numb tongue from eating fresh celery? I do, and I didn't know that it didn't happen to everyone! Apparently, it's not uncommon, though. Articles that I'm reading can't agree about whether it's a reaction to eugenol (also in ginger, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) that's responsible or if it's an allergy to furanocoumourans that increase in concentration as the celery ages.
@North I have a similar pollen problem for mustache wax. Depending on where it's from and where the bees got their pollen I may or may not breakout. Not life or death allergy, but definitely annoying.
sigh
So apparently all the youtube bros are up in arms because they think Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is on steroids.
WHO! FUCKING! CARES!
He's not playing a competitive sport. He's an actor and his body image is his product. His job 7 days a week is to work out and eat in a way that he can look like that. And if he IS on steroids, then that's his body and his choice.
Why in the 8 flavors of fuck would it affect you in anyway.
Growing lungs was a mistake.
@deshipu this was why I liked the premise for Pacific Rim. Unexplored part of ocean is exposed after natural disaster which opens 'rift'(wave hand, ignore, why not important) to another world. Aliens send in probing kaiju. We manage to not go extinct, humanity joins together to fight the 'other' as well as uses resources provided by the 'other' to advance technology.
Ive stopped thinking of "The year of the Linux desktop" as being this all encompassing thing, and more of a personal thing. 2021 was my "year of the linux desktop" when i finally made the full time switch. I hope this year will be someone elses "year of the linux desktop". Maybe yours. Merry #yearofthelinuxdesktop for all those who celebrate
I really wish I had a phone keyboard that had more granular control of the button shapes/location. I very very often hit 'b' or 'n' instead of space, 'o' instead of 'i' and 'l' instead of backspace. I'd love to be able to adjust layout to something that I can't seem to avoid on my own.
@Mehrad thanks! Giving the beta a try. I've been wanting to switch to an open source keyboard for a while. Joined the beta. Seems good so far. Even swipe isn't that bad really. Be nice when autocomplete is implemented, but over all a pretty polished keyboard. I'll miss samsung's gif search in keyboard, but i'll find a work around i'm sure.
I found out that the best solution for flaky, dropping wifi on a Raspberry Pi is forcing it to use 2.4GHz wifi. My router was doing this magic with both 5GHz and 2.4GHz wifi sharing the same SSID and leaving the choice of band to the device. The Pi was choosing the 5GHz and dropping it often. I made separate SSIDs for 5 and 2.4 and connected the Pi to the 2.4GHz band and the wifi is now rock stable. Just a little tip for you out there.
@stfn I've had that problem with lots of devices. Smart lights n' things to. Making the 2.4g and 5g on different ssids solve a lot of the problems. definitely annoying though.
