Serious question: Can anyone recommend someone in academia who does (or has done) reputable research of transgender representation in media?

I'm hoping to get at least 3-4 people who know their shit and ask them about THAT SECTION in Space Quest IV. I'm interested in historical context, analysis of the subtext, and of course a judgment call on a deceptively simple question: Is SQ4 transphobic?

I know that CRT-like shaders for pixel art are "spicy" for some. But I've been making a more progress on a little simple CRT-lite sandbox for WebGL. I think it looks pretty dope at 1440p (or even 4k). It also fades itself out if the resolution drops below 1080p to avoid moire.

Most of it is configurable—the monitor distortion, scan-lines, vignetting and gpu horizontal blur. After a few more tweaks, I'll be carving it off into its own repo to open source it. #RetroComputing #RetroGaming #WebGL

Tom Cole, the Director and head organiser for AdventureX since 2016, recently announced he is stepping down from his role in the AdventureX organisation.

Unfortunately, this means that there will be no in-person AdventureX 2024 conference.

We do not have enough time, and the team needs to work out various challenges to organise another event to the same standards we've held AdventureX in the past. This includes the search for a new venue.

I recently stumbled across this beautiful adventure game "Lucy Dreaming" by @tallstorygames ... and I'm hooked!
It just feels like "coming home". An old school point and click game (in a very positive sense) with lots of clever ideas and many references to the "good old times" of adventure gaming.
There's so much love and humour in this game that I can highly recommend it to any old-school P&C fan.

The year was 1985 and I stole my first Mac. Apple had just released the Mac and wanted companies to make things for it. They gave HESware (where I work before Lucas) a Mac. No one at the company was interested in it so I asked if I could take it home for the weekend. When I got back to work on Monday they laid everyone off. I filed to mention I had the Mac at home. I've used Macs ever since.
