Some ppl drop $$ on movies, others play lotteries. shrug

Also: For every trial (ie. playing a lottery once), there's a conjunctive event (ie. the entirety of lotteries played over one's life), and with each loss, the standard deviation of the conjunctive event becomes more 'taut.' Standard deviations' goal in life is to loosen. Exploit that...while knowing that the probability of each trial is dirt-low.

My coffee taste like soap again. I realized that it only taste like this when I also eat these gluten free cookies. The cookies and coffee taste fine on their own, but combine the two and SOAP.

@grumpygamer Totally off topic, but I'm getting sick of the word "roguelike."

Roguelike seems to basically have replaced the word 'procedurally generated'...and I (generally) prefer hand-polished levels and a more "contained" experience. There are exceptions, of course. (eg. Slay the Spire)

I'm playing Devious Dungeon 2 on the Switch atm, and I'm basically enjoying it...but for every "roguelike" I enjoy, there seem to be dozens of others I don't.

I'm surprised at how my of my playtesters just beat their heads against a much higher enemy and don't realize they need to level up first. It's probably a design failing much farther down the chain, but maybe a simple message or comment will help.

@grumpygamer If the enemy were accessible, I'd probably beat my head against it too. Player level be damned; if I can get to it, I can try to kill it. Fruitless, you say?! WE SHALL SEE! tries, dies, repeats

btw I like the idea of a mentor barring their way until the player has leveled up. If the game's gonna say, "Here's an enemy for you to kill" (even tacitly) then I expect to be able to kill it. Not doing so is HUGELY disappointing and frustrating.

@grumpygamer I bought Divinity 2 (I think) on a whim, back on XBox 360. That was my first encounter with them.

That game screamed "we outsourced the cut-scenes and cobbled together the game from whatever assets we had sitting around," but it was kinda fun.

Wait...does every game they've released (aside from BG3) have a title with something to do with 'divinity?' Confusing (and annoying), man.

I always feel confused when a game I got a curation copy of gets pulled from Steam. I played only about an hour of this - it was interesting design-wise but not really my taste - and the developers appear to have decided at the last minute to go mobile-only and delist from Steam. So... does this mean I should play more for those permarare cheeves? Or give up because no one will care?
