The more I get into the blogging mindset, the less I post on social media. It is really weird, that I gifted so many thoughts of the last over 10 years to a platform owner who made money out of it. That is no more. My blog will stay ad free forever. The only tracking I do is cookie-free and respects the do-not-track-header and self hosted. So I guess @pfefferle and @matthiasott, you were right. Blogging it is.

The ease in which I quit Twitter didn’t surprise me, but how I just up and peaced out from Reddit is wild. I never was a big Twitter user (mostly lurking/consuming) but I used Reddit All. The. Time. I think having faith in the #Fediverse after using Mastodon has helped ease the emotional transition.

OK, so I finally got around to trying out Stage Manager + External Monitor with my 11in iPad Pro and wow. It’s not perfect but it is insanely functional. I could absolutely use this as a 100% “real” computer replacement. Sure, there are some workflows that are impossible on current iPad hardware/software (e.g. running BurpSuite, virtualizing Windows, etc…) but for daily driving, blogging, research, photo editing/management, even podcasting, it is fantastic. #apple #ipad #blogincoming

I like the hashtag #fedup to describe the more recent trend of people fleeing traditional, centralized, corporate, user-hostile, money grubbing, (…I could go on) services. It works on a few levels, 1. Being fed up with those services and 2. The fediverse being on the up and up!

Both #Ivory and #icecubes are amazing #mastodon clients but I give the slight edge to Ivory right now because of how seamless the timeline sync works. That said, Ice Cubes has some great features that Ivory doesn’t have yet (e.g. full profile metadata viewing, trending search, more swipe options, remote local timelines). Oh and it’s free and open source which is hard to complain about.
