4 years ago, I booked myself a week in a self-catering holiday cottage & wrote the 1st draft of half a book.

I finished the draft over the following month & a bit, then put it to one side while we gutted & re-did our kitchen.

By the end of December I realised I'd made a fairly major error in the plot set-up & would need to re-draft not just edit.

Then Covid & lockdowns happened & I never got round to re-drafting...

This is so amazing. I wanted to try writing on the laptop again yesterday but ran out of words after two lines.
A little bit later I grabbed my notebook to jot down an idea for my book, and then line after line of story flowed out.
It’s just magical, this handwriting process.
After years of a writing slump, I seem to have found a key to unlocking it again.
