Next month marks ten years since I left Twitter. I'm still proud of things I worked on, but I make an effort to avoid bringing it up unless absolutely relevant.

Talk too much about your past and you say, "I haven't done anything cool since then." People who make it their whole identity were usually just in the right place at the right time.

Letting go of the past may cost you social media clout, but it does wonders for your professional (and personal) growth.

Prediction around Tesla’s Robo-taxi announcement on 8/8: they pre-announce a 2025 ship date, or something even further into the future. When that date comes and goes without delivery, they will blame big bad US regulation.

Two birds with one stone: prop up the stock for another year, and feed into Elon’s conservative rhetoric.

I can usually tell a photo was “AI” generated in how it makes my skin crawl.

I don’t know what sets me off. The uncanny valley? The lack of a human point of view? Whatever it is, I don’t get it when I come across oil paintings or 3D art. It’s just AI that nauseates me.

This is my second attempt at using SwiftData and "noping" halfway through because it's just so underdeveloped.

First I bailed because it doesn't support indexes, which is insane to leave out of a 1.0.

Now I'm digging into critical APIs and finding zero documentation.

I get Swift and SwiftUI were chaotic the first few releases, but I'm not trusting alpha frameworks with user data.

On Threads, my algorithmic timeline is full of right wing garbage, thirst traps, and Facebook employees complaining about Apple.

If I point this out, my replies fill with Facebook employees telling me it’s my fault for not following enough people, or that I should just switch to the “Following” tab every time the app launches.

I suspect the real problem is Threads has cooled off. With fewer posts coming in, it doesn’t take much engagement for trash to float to the top.
