This morning we're seeing a bunch of "Spam Report" toots from an account on miniwa.moe. They're tagging a bunch of unrelated admins, including me, and providing links to further information that return 404s. Not sure exactly what the purpose of these toots were, but it was poorly executed, and the account has been suspended on our end until we hear from the miniwa.moe admins.

@saustrup Yeah I blocked that one too, these 'pings' for every moderation action are not helpful. Especially during a spam wave..

So, did I miss anything noteworthy? Does anyone have any tips or recommendations before I choose a server for any one of these? I'll probably be going for the most popular server on each for improved federation and maintenance.

Note: I'm using right now and Misskey forks are already overrepresented, so that's why it's not included.

Those wanting to try out an alternative to Mastodon, you're welcome to create an account on https://sharkey.world. #Sharkey has a very different layout, but most of the same features as Mastodon, and many features Mastodon hasn't. Just see for yourself, and it's fine to either use it as a second account, or you can decide to migrate your current account to it, if you really like it.

@CodexNotFound I don't use Android myself, the only app I heard of is Kaiteki. But I think they also are working on improving API compatibility so in time all Mastodon apps should work as well.

Linux_Is_Best, to fediverse

I have been thinking of trying, Sharkey, but for some reason, Fosstodon seems to have an issue with both Misskey and Sharkey.

For reasons unknown, they're either blocked or silenced on nearly every instance or report a connection error, suggesting Fosstodon has blocked them.

Anyone know what's up?

Hi @ruud I came across this account (see attached toot) who spreads right wing conspiracy and other hateful stuff, I notified you and blocked it. Other users informed me that the whole instance is already blocked on their instances. Would kindly request you to do the same.

Further: where can I find info/ a list of blocked instances on mastodon.world? It would be nice to have this.
