It is a volunteer role, and there’s no minimum (or maximum) amount of time you need to put in.

This foundation is a non-profit setup by @ruud and @stux which owns many fediverse platforms like mstdn.social, mastodon.world, lemmy.world and others.

Meet Haai.

They're the mascot for #SharkeyWorld, an instance powered by @Sharkey (cc: @ruud). It's a community of roughly ~120 members, and part of the rapidly growing squad of instances based on this #Misskey fork. #OhHaai

Haai is also the Dutch word for shark, and also is a homophone for a greeting (Hi!).

It's been an amazing journey since I started toot.community. However, due to personal commitments, I'm stepping down. The community deserves undivided attention, which I can't provide anymore. So, I'm handing the reins over to the reliable hands of the Fedihosting Foundation (https://fedihosting.foundation). I have confidence they'll keep treating you the way you deserve.

Zoals je wellicht weet, host ik o.a. mastodon.world, lemmy.world en nog een dozijn ad=ndere fediverse instances. In order to fight CSAM (child pornography) material being uploaded to our instances (either directly, of via caching from other instances), we have deployed a tool that scans our S3 buckets (where we store the media).

We have tested it, and we do expect some ‘false positives’, eg. Images that aren’t CSAM but get removed anyway. It’s a very small percentage, and we think it’s worth it.
